The gridded drifter data in this directory is equivalent to
that published in:

Fratantoni, D.M.,  North Atlantic Surface Circulation during 
the 1990's Observed with Satellite-Tracked Drifters, 
Journal of Geophysical Research, 106, 22067-22093, 2001.

The raw data used in creating these fields was obtained from 
the drifter data assembly center at NOAA/AOML.  Any use of these 
gridded fields should acknowledge both the source of the raw data
and the publication cited above.
