check for consistent number of nesting-steps between parent & child:
 if they agree, set number of nesting-steps in driver accordingly;
 if not, stop cleanly (call MPI_FINALIZE & stop).

split driver_nesting.F into "main.F" and "interpolation_p2c.F":
-change current dir + open & write to (proc specific) log file
-fix several problems:
  o argument indexF was used in different MPI call with different
    expected values;
  o explicitly allocate all dyn.allocable vars;
  o use explicit copy (localP3D_a,localP2D_a) of part of VAR3D_P,VAR2D_P
    in MPI_SEND call argument list.
-use MITgcm way to open binary file (using WORDLENGTH, and without
    "convert='big_endian'").
