QuikSCAT v3 windstress estimate (2001-2009) ecco2.jpl.nasa.gov
ASCAT windstress estimate (2009-2013) http://www.knmi.nl/scatterometer 

Raw data was generated by David Moroni using IDL software at the Jet
Propulsion Laboratory, with copyrights reserved to California Institute of
Technology, Pasadena, CA.

These windstress fields have been mapped to the ECCO v4 grid (LLC90) using
gcmfaces (See Forget et al 2015) and organized by year.

The names of these datasets are:
   QSCAT_Large_u_r2_YYYY   where YYYY = 1992-2013 Eastward wind stress estimate
   QSCAT_Large_v_r2_YYYY                          Northward wind stress estimate
